First Forum: Strengthening Corporate Governance in Jordanian Companies – March 2019

The first forum brought together experts from the Central Bank of Jordan, the Jordan Securities Commission, the Companies Control Department, and the Amman Chamber of Commerce, in addition to representatives from the private sector.

Discussions focused on the legal and institutional framework governing corporate governance in Jordan, including disclosure and transparency requirements, as well as the criteria for representation on the boards of companies and banks.

The forum also addressed the roles and responsibilities of the Fund’s representatives on boards, and the nature of their institutional relationship with the Social Security Investment Fund. This contributed to enhancing clarity of roles and responsibilities and reinforcing the application of sound governance practices.
