Investment in the agricultural sector represents a
strategic pillar within the Social Security Investment Fund’s direction, in
alignment with national efforts to strengthen food security and promote green
investment in the Kingdom.
In this context, through its subsidiary Daman for
Investment and Agricultural Industries, the Fund manages a strategic
agricultural project spanning approximately 30,000 dunums in Mudawara, Ma’an
Governorate. This project represents one of the largest modern agricultural
projects in Jordan and is managed through an integrated institutional
investment model supported by qualified national expertise.
The project focuses on producing key strategic crops,
including wheat, potatoes, onions, and other field crops. These products are
supplied to central markets, local industries, and regional markets,
contributing to reducing the food gap and enhancing the availability of
value-added agricultural products.
In addition to its economic impact, the project has
generated 120 permanent jobs and more than 80 seasonal employment
opportunities, contributing to rural development and reinforcing local
communities in the southern regions.
