Energy

The energy sector is one of the strategic sectors within the investment portfolio of the Social Security Investment Fund. The Fund places particular importance on this sector in recognition of its vital role in supporting energy security, enhancing economic stability, and diversifying income sources over the long term. In this context, the Fund seeks to achieve a balanced investment approach between conventional and renewable energy, in line with national development priorities and global trends in the energy sector.

Conventional Energy

The Fund invests directly and indirectly in companies involved in electricity generation and distribution, as well as petroleum refining, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of this vital sector and supporting its ability to generate stable and sustainable returns over the medium and long term. These include:

Renewable Energy

The Fund invests indirectly in renewable energy through companies with renewable energy projects. It has also established three solar power plants to supply electricity to its hotels and buildings and is currently developing an additional solar plant as part of its gradual expansion in clean energy and alignment with national green economy objectives.

These investments reflect the Fund’s role as a national institutional investor supporting the development of the energy sector and the transition toward more sustainable energy sources.
